DOES IT HURT?
Treatments are suitable for all skin types and skin colours, and the procedure feels gentle and rejuvenating. There is minimal pain in during treatment, with most people describing the sensation as mild discomfort. A small amount of anaesthetic cream can be applied to the skin prior to treatment for a more comfortable treatment procedure.

ARE THERE ANY POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
After the treatment you can get temporary erythema (redness) and temporary perifollicular oedema (swelling/lumps).
Any initial reactions should settle down within 48 hours.
Aloe vera and SPF should be used to reduce irritation.
There is a very slight risk of hyper or hypo-pigmentation, darkening or lightening of the skin.
This is why it is important to protect skin from the sun with an SPF 30 or above.
Following pre and post care instructions is vital, particularly to avoid any adverse reaction such as a heat reaction or blister. This is caused by excess heat before or after layered on top of the treated area e.g. hot shower, sun exposure etc.
WHAT ABOUT A PATCH TEST?
A patch test is done on a small section of the different body areas you want treated.
The patch test provides us with the optimal temperature for your skin.
It checks the sensitivity of the laser to your skin.
You have to wait a minimum of 1 -2 weeks for tanned/darker skin before your first session.
We are looking for any adverse reactions in this time.
The patch test is complimentary.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TREATMENT?
2 to 3 weeks after treatment you will begin to see dramatic results, with the full effect showing 10 to 20 days later. We recommend you consider having 4-6 sessions minimum for a continues result.

YOUR MEDICAL HISTORY
You will need to give us a full medical history at the consult.
We only commence treatment if we are confident you are a medically suitable for it.

There are certain contraindications to anti-wrinkle treatment which mean you cannot have the treatment. Some of these are: pregnancy, roaccutane users, recently had a peel or laser resurfacing.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?
The skin may be slightly red and skin pigmentation may darken and may appear more obvious immediately following treatment. On the other hand, some spots may lighten without going darker first. Crusts may form over the spots in the weeks following treatment which is a normal reaction, and they will generally fall off by themselves. Our clinical therapists will advise you not to touch the scabs that form and to allow them to naturally purge on their own.

WHO SHOULD AVOID THIS TREATMENT?
As with most laser skin treatments, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and people with neuromuscular disorder should not be given Anti-wrinkle injections. People on antibiotics should consult with their doctor prior to receiving this treatment.
