HOW DOES FAT FREEZING CRYOLIPOLYSIS WORK?
A special vacuumed applicator is applied to an area of the body and a controlled cooling technique lowers the treatment area to -9C.
Cooling energy treats the fat layer without any damage to surrounding cells.
As fat cells cannot survive at this temperature, these fat cells crystallise, die and over a period of 12 weeks naturally eliminate from the body.
The result: 20-30% of permanent fat cell death in treated areas!
ARE YOU SUITABLE FOR FAT FREEZING TREATMENT?
Cryolipolysis is most effective in people who have stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. It does not appear to be effective in people who have large amounts of fat to lose. So if you are within 15 kilos of your ideal weight and have fat pockets that can be grabbed, then fat freezing may well be the treatment for you.

WHERE DOES THE FAT GO AND IS IT PERMANENT?
Once crystallized, the fat cells slowly break down and are transported through the lymphatic system to the liver where they are processed out of the body as waste. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they are gone for good. As long as you maintain your weight with your normal diet and exercise, your long-term results should remain stable.
IS IT PAINFUL?
As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you will feel pressure and intense cold. This soon dissipates as the area becomes numb. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap during their treatment.
HOW WILL FAT FREEZING TREATMENT BE PERFORMED?
When you arrive for your procedure, a Practitioner will review and mark the area(s) being treated. A protective gel sheet will then be placed on the surface of the skin and excess fat will be pinched into the Cryolipolysis applicator. You should not feel pain, only some pressure, and suction for the first few minutes of the treatment. After that, the target area will become numb to the cold. The treatment will last roughly 45 to 60 minutes. Since there is little else you can do, naps are advisable as is watching a movie on your device or simply catch up on work emails.
After the procedure is over, the treated area will be red, and for many, look as if there’s a hard lump of butter underneath the skin; this is the fat that’s been sucked up by the applicator. Your provider will massage the site, and the lump should dissipate quickly. As this is a no-downtime procedure, you’ll be free to continue with your regular activities right away.
IS IT SAFE?
Yes. The treatments are non-invasive – meaning the treatment does not penetrate the skin so there is no risk of infection or complication. Our equipment is medical grade and registered on the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 13485 certification.
WHEN WILL I START TO SEE RESULTS?
Results can start to show as quickly as 6 weeks, with optimal results being seen at the 12th week mark.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I REQUIRE?
Treatments are dependent on the individual.
It is also dependent on medical background and diet.
In general, you can expect to gradually lose 20 to 30% of fat in the treated area after just one session. Most patients see noticeable results within three months, but some may see results in as early as a few weeks. If you are serious about body contouring, you must avoid weight gain during treatment or your results will be poor.
ARE THERE ANY POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
When performed by a qualified provider, Cryolipolysis is very safe. Typical side effects include redness, minor bruising, tingling, numbness, or discomfort in the treated area. These are temporary and should resolve gradually on their own.
Following pre and post care instructions is vital, particularly to avoid any adverse reaction such as a heat reaction or blister.
CAN I RETURN TO NORMAL ACTIVITIES AFTER THE TREATMENTS?
Yes, you can. The procedure is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. As surgery can lead to months of discomfort and disruption to life, Cryolipolysis is rapidly becoming a popular alternative to traditional liposuction.
LIPOSUCTION VS CRYOLIPOLYSIS
Cryolipolysis and liposuction are both intended to be body contouring procedures, but the treatment that’s right for you depends on your unique situation and desired results.
Cryolipolysis is one the best options for non-surgical fat reduction. The results do not really compare to liposuction. Liposuction can deliver dramatic results after one treatment, whereas Cryolipolysis can only deliver a 20 to 30% reduction in fat and may require multiple treatments to reach a patient’s goal. Cryolipolysis is great for patients who only need a small reduction in fat or who are averse to more invasive procedures.”
Liposuction can may well be more expensive than Cryolipolysis. But, as with Cryolipolysis, the costs of liposuction vary depending on which part or parts of your body you choose to have treated. The average cost for a liposuction procedure in 2018 was £3,500.

There are certain contraindications to Cryolipolysis which mean you cannot have the treatment. Some of these are: pregnancy, roaccutane, Raynaud’s phenomenon, Cryoglobulinemia or laser resurfacing.

You will be given an advice card at the consultation which you must follow before and after each session to get the best and safest results.
